Hi hi !

August has been productive, to say the least, and I fully intend on keeping up in September.

A huge part of the art commissions has been taken care of by now and I was able to implement the new items in the game, as well as the Miner job. 

Several creatures have also been added to the monsters roster : one is Estinien’s questline boss, but there’s also a Gnath in the Dravanian Forelands. I figured that people who haven’t played FFXIV would have trouble picturing them during the long quest involving some of their antics, I thought being able to fight against nasty ones would show what they’re supposed to look like.

The rest of the monsters are a whole different category. After unlocking Normal Battle and Difficult Battle, each zone will feature its fourth tier, the “Special Hunt” against a bigger, badder enemy. Winning for the first time against one of these rewards you with a trophy you can exchange for gil. 

“Where to do that ?”, will you ask. Well, inns will now have a “Report” option where you can exchange your hunt trophy and do levequests : these are basically requests for items close to your level. 

For example, being a low level Botanist, you’ll be asked to bring low level pine wood. A high level Alchemist will need to bring higher level items like a Hi-Potion, etc. Rewards are proportional, as you can guess. I kept the Allowances system from the original game, though here you restore some each night. You can also use one to replace a request you don’t like.

That’s probably not a perfect system, but the grind was one of the major issues players reported with 0.1 and while I did increase some of the experience rewards, I needed to find something as I intend to add many more jobs to the game.

Oh and you might have noticed the new icons for the Quick menu above. Another addition coming for 0.2 !
