Weekly Log #22

Hilda’s storyline is starting strong. I’ve written all her first interactions and the beginning of her questline, which – without delving too much into spoilers territory – will be an investigation on white-collar crime involving the Firmament. I have some cool ideas so all that’s left is to implement them well.

Y’shtola had a special option to offer a gift and Estinien had one focusing on the Hunt target system. I didn’t need to search far to find another different one for Hilda : the Hounds she’s leading need some new equipment and at each level, she’ll need to check your equipped Machinist weapon for inspiration. That way, players are forced to interact with the equipment system though they can still choose whether to craft or buy them. I’m not a monster, after all.

Another new thing this week is the upload of a web browser version for the game here on Itch.io ! Ren’py can easily build a Web version and while I made sure to test it as thoroughly as I could, I was surprised to see that everything works from the start without having to add or fix anything. Only thing lacking is a custom loading splash screen so I’ll make sure to add one for the next build.

Aaand that’s pretty much all for today. I’ll keep working on Hilda’s storyline and get back to coding a little bit, especially on the equipment system.
